Business Analysts Profile
Business Analyst is responsible for working closely with the business and end-users to structure business requirements, external design elements and analytical instruments such that they are usable inputs for application/systems design or selection. The analyst structures and codifies often anecdotal and naïve business process descriptions into competent engineering requirement specifications.
Knowledge of:
Systems and business analysis techniques
A wide range of facilitation techniques and exercises to facilitate meetings in which the outcome is not known.
Commonly accepted business processes and practice found in the client's organization.
Several presentation and data gathering techniques
Skill in:
Managing the interview process with business people such that complete and relevant information is captured.
Converting unstructured and anecdotal business information into proper data and process descriptions.
Synthesizing multiple sources of information into a single comprehensive view of a situation or business problem, identifying any potential contradictions.
Gaining confirmation of conclusions from appropriate sources. Anticipating and documenting consequences and impacts.
Ability to:
Work in a self-directed mode.
Facilitate and lead meetings with all levels of internal and external personnel.
Deal with difficult negotiation situations, including those with highly charged emotions, and maintaining a calm, objective tone and presence in working toward settlement.
Communicate articulately with business and technical personnel.
Create clear, complete and concise documents and analytical instruments
